A Pace Free Run, Taco Tuesday and FitFluential

Last night I went on a nice slow 3 mile run with Thomas and Dixie. It was so nice to not obsess over pace for once and just talk and run. When we get home from work we usually go to the gym together (I stick to the treadmill and he lifts weights) or we go our separate ways if I’m running outside somewhere. The time goes by quickly and sometimes we don’t even sit down to relax until 9:00 at night. Since we both work full time jobs and love to workout when we get home, it makes it more difficult to find quality time to spend together.

I thought about doing a few more miles when we were done, but it was Taco Tuesday and these bad boys were calling my name…

Earlier this week I found out my application to become a FitFluential ambassador was accepted! I’ve seen this badge on several of the blogs I follow, so I decided to check out their website and see what it was all about.

What I love about FitFluential: you don’t have to be an elite athlete to be an ambassador. Also, it isn’t limited to one type of sport. There are all kinds of kinds in this community and they help connect ambassadors with each other and brands/products that they can share with their readers.

Do you ever just run without tracking your pace?

Are you a FitFluential Ambassador?

I’d love to be an ambassador of something. It sounds so powerful and important! So far I think the only thing I could qualify for is the junk food cupboard; I promote it by actively participating in its consumption and nobody gets to it without first going through me.

  2. Congrats on Fitfluential! I also just was accepted about a month or so ago and it’s a great community with so much support and ways to connect with other bloggers and companies.

  3. It’s always refreshing to run with a watch! I do it if I’m feeling a little burned out. It reminds me to run for the love of it!
Congrats and welcome to the FitFluential family!!!

  4. That taco.! looks soo good. all that salsa.
I never run without tracking my runs..I’m so obsessed with numbers, I probably should more often though. lol

I’m the same way… This was so out of character for me. And I actually did wear my watch so I knew we did 3 miles, but I didn’t check my pace at all and took it really slow.

  5. I always feel naked without my watch, but it’s so refreshing to run without it.

Congrats on becoming a FitFluential ambassador!

  6. Congratulations on becoming a FitFluential Ambassador! That is exciting. Your shorts and tank are making me crave summer. We’ve had a few warm days, but I’m ready for the heat!! Running without attending to pace is so nice… while I like keeping track of distance, I find myself less concerned with pace right now.

It’s finally holding steady in the 70s here in NC. I forgot how much I missed the warmth… and the sun!

I’ve been running without my pace in mind for a couple weeks now and may go Garmin-less on Sunday. Time isn’t really a goal for me now and I feel like I’m running so much more relaxed when I don’t focus on it.

Congrats on the new Ambassadorship and welcome to the Fitfluential family!! (I’m an ambassador too!)

Sometimes you just gotta go watch free, especially when you’re injured 🙁 Good luck this weekend, but don’t be too hard on yourself!

  8. Congratulations on FFA! We are so happy to have you! And pace free runs? Where it is at, particularly with the pooch and followed by tacos.

  9. Awww a run with the whole little family 🙂 I love that.

I can totally relate to the problem of finding time to spend together after work. Adam and I both workout after work too and some nights it might be 9pm or late before we finally sit down together. I think that’s part of why I’m so selfish about wanting his time and attention on the weekends. I like hanging out with friends and family, but most of the time I just want alone time with him since we get so little of it during the week.

Same!! I get soooo sad when we have to spend a weekend apart because that is when we really get to spend time together.

Congrats on becoming a Fitfluential ambassador! I very rarely run without a watch, but I do sometimes just go and try not to look at it (I know, it’s hard to do). I have a running group that I go out with and I like that because they kinda force me to be at an easier pace, where we can all just talk and enjoy ourselves.

Awesome looking taco, by the way.

I think I really need to find a running group. Thomas and I moved out to the middle of nowhere about a year ago and we don’t know anyone where we currently live, but it would be so nice to find a group of people to run with!

  11. Since most of my running is on a treadmill these days (thanks hamstring), I don’t focus on my pace. BUT, when I’m able to run outside I really want to know how I am doing. Congrats on joining the FitFluential Ambassador program – it’s great!
