Random Friday Things and Unexpected Blogspiration

The inspiration for today’s blog post was found in the strangest of places: my page a day calendar, a bag of m&ms, and at the local running store where I picked up my race packet for this weekend. Here we go. Try to keep up with my random thoughts.

1. Today’s page on my doggie calendar. I thought the description was appropriate.. Dixie is super fast but lovessss long, slow runs.

2. Boston colored M&Ms!!!! I opened my peanut m&ms after lunch and these four popped out and I realized how excited I am for the Boston marathon on Monday. Since I started blogging, I have found so many inspirational and motivating runners that are running on Monday, and I can’t wait to see how everyone does. I can only hope to be there someday!!

3. I get to race tomorrow! Sometimes we forget that we “get” to run, and I’m guilty of saying that I “have” to run way too often. Running is a blessing that we should never take for granted, and there are so many others who will never get to run in a race. The race I’m doing is for a great cause and I’m excited to be a part of it!

I don’t have great expectations for this race. I’ve been sick all week and have logged exactly 2 miles, but I also feel like racing will get me back on track with my training and will kick start what I feel like is going to be a really great week.

4. Girls weekend!! Thomas is out of town for the weekend, so that means I get to have some much needed girl time this weekend with some of my best friends. I’m sure we will take a lot of selfies and I’ll tell you all about it later whether you want me to or not 🙂

Are you excited about the Boston marathon? Are you running or do you know someone who is?

What is one thing you are excited about this weekend??

  1. Can’t wait for Monday! I have the day off and I am so excited to sit on the couch with a cup of coffee and watch the race. I’m also having a girls weekend! The man also went out of town, so I’ve got a girls night planned with my ladies on Saturday night. I can’t wait! Have fun this weekend!

Aww, you’re going to have a great race! And girls weekend. I am so jealous!! My bff Lora and I ran the Boston marathon in 2010 and 2011 so she’s meeting me here at Starbucks in an hour and we’re running our long run all decked out in Boston gear. LOVE IT! Run hard, Maddie. Don’t even bother crossing that finish line until you’ve left some guts on the course. xo
