Fall Marathon Blog Roll

No running for me yesterday! Now that you all convinced me in my last post that I’m not crazy, I’ve decided I’m going to do my best to enjoy this taper. Tuesday night I did an easy three miles on the treadmill at 9:00 pace and I’ll do a quick little 2-3 miles tonight to loosen myself up before my two full days of rest. I need to take Dixie on oneΒ last training run since she’s stuck with me through all this madness. I took her to the vet this morning and she’s gained three pounds. Sooooo I should probably stop feeding her peanut butter filled Kongs after every run. Anyway, thanks again for all of your kind words and encouragement this week. You guys are seriously amazingΒ and I feel so ready to tackle this half marathon!

Speaking of marathons…. One of my favorite blogging pals Hanna did something awesome and created a directory of sorts to get all of us marathon trainees connected: 2015 Fall Marathon Blog Roll. Anyone who wants to be included on the blog roll, just leave a comment here and let me know what races you are planning on doing this year. It’s such a good idea to all get connected and follow each other’s training, especially for first time marathoners like me πŸ™‚

SPEAKING OF my first marathon, I saw this on Facebook this morning and I got SO excited. I can’t wait to do this race!!

  8. I’m not running a fall marathon this year. Part of me is glad I’m not and the other part of me feels left out! Oh my gosh Dixie is adorable, I think her and Arrow would get along great!

  9. Suzy says:

I love Dixie!!! I need her. Your tapering plan sounds perfect and I have no doubt you’re gonna nail this half. Dixie seems to have been tapering a little tooooo much along with you, though hey? She’s just got more of a womanly figure now.

  10. NYC Marathon on 11/1/15!!! #bucketlistrace

  11. awe that’s such a fun idea.! Darn too bad I don’t plan on running a fall marathon.

  15. I have not fully committed to doing a full marathon (meaning I haven’t registered because I’m scared) but I’m pretty sure I’m going to do the Rochester Marathon in the fall (September 20th http://www.rochestermarathon.com/). I’m doing my first half next weekend and want to be sure I survive that before I register for the full. I’m sure I will. And, I’m halfway to a full already, so why not keep going?!?!?

    • Maddie says:

Well, I’m adding you to the list… so that means you have to do it πŸ™‚ Just kidding, of course, but I’m still adding you!! You can totally do it.

  16. Karen says:

    Enjoy your rest πŸ™‚
I ran the Richmond half this past November πŸ™‚ It’s my half PR (2:10) I am quite a bit slower than you, it was freezing that day!!! The year before it was humid and rainy. You can never tell what Nov. will bring. I am thinking about doing the half again this year. I think it’s too soon for me to try a marathon again, I am still in recovery mode. Everyone I know that has done the Richmond marathon has loved the course. My friend/co-worker, Robyn is signed up. Her link is in my post πŸ™‚ I need to share this so she can join the blog roll!

  17. I am running Richmond this fall (11/14/15)! Signed up for the training team yesterday- can’t wait!

  18. I love the idea of a fall marathon blog roll! I’m running and trying to BQ at the Portland Marathon on October 4.

  19. NYC marathon. November 1
    Flying Monkey Marathon. November 22

  20. Thanks so much for the shoutout! πŸ™‚ Beyond excited to see all these commenters wanting to join. I’ll shoot you an email later!

  21. misszippy says:

LOVE the Richmond Marathon! It’s my PR course (twice over) and you will love it, too! Perfect course, perfect weather, perfect size. Excited for you.

I am running the Wine Glass Marathon this year–hoping I haven’t picked one too early in the year–I worry about too hot!

    • Maddie says:

YAY! Exactly what I wanted to hear πŸ™‚

You never know with October weather… it might be hot or it might be perfect!

  22. Ariana says:

I ran the half in Richmond, it was great! I may be biased though because I went to college at VCU and met my husband there so Richmond holds a lot of great memories for me. I did LOVE that they give fleece blankets at the finish. I think you’ll have a great time!

  23. Um yeah, I don’t know how to break this news to you, but I can see that Dixie is definitely the queen of the house! πŸ™‚ So cute!

  24. Haha! It kind of looks like Dixie does run things at you house. πŸ˜‰

I’m running the Route 66 Marathon November 22 in Tulsa! πŸ™‚

  25. Like a couple others I will be running Chicago in October then WDW in January πŸ™‚ woohoo!!!
