Helloooooo Weekend!

I’m so happy it’s Saturday. I’m also so happy because Friday was just one of those REALLY good days. I’m all hyped up so I’m going to tell you all about it.

1. I got a raise & promotion at work. This was a big one. I started my current job a little over a year ago and for the first time since graduating college I felt like I was actually enjoying what I was doing. I work for a market research company… It’s extremely interesting work and I’m doing something different literally every day. I love it. Well, guess what. When you really really like something, it’s a lot easier to work hard and get better at it (ahem, running reference).

2. I became a Sweat Pink ambassador. When I first started blogging, I had no idea how to network and find other people like me that I could connect with. Then I found all of these awesome communities of people that just want to talk about running and fitness all day long. It’s so great. I’m so happy to be a part of this group.

3. A good run. After not being able to walk straight for two days after my lunges on Tuesday, it felt so good to be able to run again. Also, it was kind of raining which meant I had the greenway all to myself, just the way I like it. Lots of space to take running selfies.

I did make a few friends on my run.

This guy was my favorite. He had a beard.

4. Date night. Thomas and I have been away the past two weekends. He went on a guys trip and then I went to a bachelorette party last weekend, so we haven’t had a date night in a while. We also used this as a celebration for my promotion and his raise that he got at work a few weeks ago. We went to Downtown Thai in Winston-Salem and had some yummy sushi. I actually don’t eat fish, but I looooove me some vegetable roll.

Then we got $12 worth of froyo, obviously.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!!

Maddie, that’s a great pace for your run! Speedy legs, even after those lunges. Congratulations on your promotion and raise, and I’m so happy that you love your job! That’s awesome. And the bearded animal is just the icing on the cake.

Thanks! I was shocked that I kept that pace after those devil lunges.. Maybe the bearded horse gave me motivation

  2. Yay, congrats on the job and becoming a Sweat Pink Ambassador!

  3. You have so much good going on!!!
Congrats on your promotion and ambassadorship!!!

What a great past few days for you…and nice run!! Wherever you are, it is definitely beautiful!

  5. Congratulations on all the great stuff you have going on!! That’s awesome 🙂

  6. Yay! Congrats on all the accomplishments!

  7. Yay!! Congrats on the promotion!! So exciting. Doing what you finally feel is what you should be doing is a great feeling.

  8. Congrats on the promotion and raise! Doesn’t it feel so good to not only love your job, but to be rewarded for doing well at it? Sometimes I feel like the raise itself isn’t as important as getting the recognition (although the raise is certainly not bad, haha).

Mmmm froyo. Adam and I used to go get it all the time and we’ve gotten away from the habit for some reason. I may need to add a froyo stop into our plans for the day! 🙂

    • Maddie says:

Totally agree… It’s just nice to do something that you feel like you enjoy and are good at, but the recognition and raise doesn’t hurt 🙂

I fully support your upcoming froyo trip… It’s a great end to a date night!!
